Kaleidoscope helps Technical trainers at Eastman Kodak Company earn CTT+ certification
Kaleidoscope Training offers major event for Eastman Kodak technical trainers
Jan. 6. 2003 - Kaleidoscope Training and Consulting, a firm specializing in improving technical-training skills, announces a four-day training program for Eastman Kodak Co. employees in Plano, Texas.
The learners are 20 Kodak trainers who teach internal staff and clients. They are seeking the Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+) designation from the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA).
The training event will be held Feb 3-6, 2003 at Kodak’s Health Imaging facility in Plano.
Kaleidoscope and OM-Tech Learning of Coral Springs, Fla., its courseware-development partner, will present their proprietary courseware Certified Trainer: Building Authentic, Creative and Effective Delivery. The courseware is an approved Authorized Quality Curriculum (CAQC) program, designed for preparing students for the Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+) exam. It is used in conjunction with CTT+ videotaping and sample test questions to help trainers build skills, obtain feedback and prepare for certification exams.
“We want to show our clients our commitment to the standards of excellence of Kodak trainers, “ said Gail Smith, Training Director for Eastman Kodak’s Worldwide Technical Training Health Imaging Division.
The Kaleidoscope/OM-Tech courseware supports a three-day instructor-led course for trainers, technicians, sales people and help-desk staff. Certified Trainer: Building Authentic, Creative and Effective Delivery enables those learners to communicate technical processes and concepts more effectively and to present the material more effectively to groups. With a mix of adult learning theory, delivery methods, individual presentation and group evaluation, participants discover ways to ensure learner success in their classes and prepare to pass the CTT+ exams.
The course is built on the ICAREsm framework, a tool that enables trainers to create learning experiences in the classroom and online. ICARE consolidates the 14 instructor competencies used for CTT+ and Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) certification into five elements. Courses and courseware approval by CompTIA are considered the gold standard for technical training.
“Students identify with new ideas easily, and trainers can assess comprehension immediately,” Hyder says. “More important, ICARE significantly impacts long-term retention of course concepts and procedures."
Kaleidoscope Training and Consulting provides technical presentation, communication and training skills through public and custom courses and individualized coaching programs. Kaleidoscope also offers software skills training, courseware development and more.
