Free eBook outlines best practices in virtual classroom techniques

"Preparing to train effectively online using virtual classroom tools requires more than uploading a PowerPoint slide file and dialing into a conference call," Hyder says. "Trainers need to think differently about how to communicate and engage learners whom they cannot see, especially when websites and email can easily distract learners from the session." Learners also need to prepare for this mode of learning, Hyder says. "The tools they are used to using in the classroom simply don't exist in a synchronous online environment.
